(Seguin) -- Seguin Fire officials continue to investigate why an 18-wheeler caught fire Sunday afternoon near the Niagara plant.
The fire was reported around 3 p.m. on Eighth Street. Seguin Fire Chief Dale Skinner says the driver was reportedly out of the big rig before the fire sparked.
"The trailer was empty at the time of the fire. The driver had parked and he was sweeping out the trailer at the time of the fire. The fire we do know started in the tractor portion of the rig and it was of course, a total loss," said Skinner.
The fire caught many people's attention as the billowing smoke could be seen hovering much of the city's north side.
