(Seguin) -- Why head out to the shopping mall thiw weekend, when there will be plenty of opportunities for picking up that special gift here in Seguin? A pair of shopping opportunities for that rare, unique and even global gift is being planned this weekend.
The first is the Texas Lutheran University Fair Trade Fair. The fair is hosted in partnership with the TLU's Jon and Sandra Moline Center for Servant Leadership and the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church of Seguin.
Morgan Klaser, the director of the CSL says the annual event is a wonderful place to buy unique Christmas gifts that also support wonderful causes.
"The Fair Trade Fair provides the opportunity for our campus and our community to come together to purchase Fair Trade handcrafts and Fair Trade products return as much money as possible back to the individuals that are often in developing countries around the world who made the items and so it's a great way to give back to the global community and you can also get some holiday shopping in at the same time. We'd love to have the community come out and support the event and find some great fairly traded handcrafts that they can purchase," said Klaser.
TLU Fair Trade Fair vendors will be set up Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the TLU Alumni Student Center.
A second opportunity will be available on Saturday during the Marion Trade Days. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Marion Middle School cafeteria. The school cafeteria is located at 506 S. Center St.
