(Seguin) -- Tickets are now available for an unique holiday performance pieced together and showcased by some of Seguin's talented families. The Stephen and Mary Birch Texas Theatre this weekend will be hosting its first ever "Home for the Holidays in Seguin - A Musical Review."

Director Sheila Lucas says the show consist of a variety of musical acts encompassing every component of Christmas.
"It's called Home for the Holidays, here in Seguin at the Texas Theatre and we have put together sort of a musical review --  Stories and songs all about Christmas, but it's not your traditional Home for the Holidays. We went a little bit out of the box. What I did was for the first act, I wanted to involve children and families and this, that and the other so everyone brought in for auditions their favorite songs. Sing me a Christmas carol -- what do you want to do in the show? They came in with their ideas and their songs and the children were magnificent. They got to sing their own piece. They decided what they wanted to sing. They brought it to the audition and we put it in the show. That's the first act. It's sort of a family gathering for the first act. Then, the second act is a little non-traditional. It is more of the religious aspect of Christmas and a little more faith based. So we incorporated some songs that are definitely faith based, but not your normal Christmas carols. It's not White Christmas. Elvis makes an appearance (and) we have a little Honolulu makes and appearance. So it's a musical review," said Lucas.
Lucas says after plenty of brainstorming, the group was able to puzzle together these wonderful holiday contributions on stage. In fact, she says the show turned out better than she had expected.

"We're having a lot of fun putting it together. Everybody has worked very hard as usual. The people in Seguin, the talent in Seguin is amazing. It never seizes to just get better and better and better. I'm thrilled to death to get to work with them. I'm blessed," said Lucas.

Show times are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $12 pre-sale or $15 at the door. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased in advance at Gift and Gourmet, Keepers, the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce or online at thetexas.org. Individuals may also call The Texas Theater at 830-372-6168.
