(Guadalupe County) -- Guadalupe County Sheriff's Investigators don't want you to fall victim to the latest scam claiming to be from Netflix.

According to Lt. Craig Jones, the scam is reportedly hitting local email boxes. He says the victim gets an email from Netflix claiming that their account has been lost, accidentally deleted or otherwise compromised. He says this email appears to be from Netflix and has a link to click on in the body of the email. If this link is clicked upon, it reportedly takes the victim to what appears to be the Netflix site.

Jones says once there, the victim is asked to input all of their personal information to include credit card numbers and other identifying information. He says it is not Netflix that is sending out these emails.
Those who aren't sure are urged to check by simply pulling up Netflix on their TV or device. Sheriff's officials say individuals should always be cautious regarding any email that requires individuals to reenter their credit card or other personal information.
