(Seguin) -- The Seguin High School Gold Battalion Booster Club wants to ensure you get a good night's rest. The group will be hosting its first ever mattress fundraiser on Sunday in the Seguin ISD Central Office located in Oak Park Mall. The funds raised will go to help support the gold battalion and high school cheerleaders.
Booster Club President Denise Wilcox says the groups have teamed up with an area fundraising company to bring this unique event to Seguin.
"The guys at Custom Fundraising Solutions are going to come into Oak Park Mall and they're going to set it up like a mattress showroom. So you're going to walk in and you're going to see all different kinds of mattresses, different sizes. We've got the orthopedic. We've got the pillow-top, we've got memory foam. We have the adjustable beds. You can buy the bases for the beds as well as the mattresses. They're going to have some pillows to choose from. He was telling me they have lavender infused sheets, like luxury sheet sets that they're going to sell. So there's quite a variety products that are available. The mattresses are all sizes. They go from twin all the way up to California King, all different price ranges. They start at $199 and they go all the way up to the thousands. So there's quite a bit available," said Wilcox.
Maggie Wilcox, the captain of the SHS Starsteppers, says the fundraiser is designed to not only help the groups raise money but to provide the best quality product to the consumer.
"This is a mattress fundraiser so what's going to happen is the mattresses are actually like 50 percent off of retail, because we don't have to spend money on like the building. We don't have to spend money on the employees. It's just the mattresses. So that's how come, we can sell it at such a cheaper price," said Maggie.
Cheer Captain Taylor Petty is also encouraging folks to stop by on Sunday.
"Just go out and try, you don't have to buy the mattresses. There's pillows, sheets, even if you just go and look around, showing your support for the dance team and the cheerleading team means a lot to us," said Petty.
The mattress sale fundraiser will be held from noon to 6 p.m.
