(Marion) -- A man is in a San Antonio hospital Sunday night following an officer involved shooting with a Guadalupe County Sheriff's Deputy.

Sheriff Arnold Zwicke says the incident was reported just before 6 p.m. at a home located in the 1000 block of Marion Road.
Zwicke says deputies were initially called to the location for a disturbance. He says the victim reportedly responded by pointing a rifle to his head. As deputies were trying to "talk him out of it," Zwicke says the victim moved the gun from under his chin and pointed it in the direction of the officers.
Zwicke says that's when one of his deputies fired his weapon striking the man once in the chest. The man reportedly is being treated for his wounds at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC).His identity has not been released. Zwicke says the incident is now under the investigation of the Texas Rangers.
