(Seguin) -- The Seguin City Council tonight is slated to conduct the annual evaluation of Seguin City Manager Doug Faseler. The city council and mayor set policies for the city, but the day-to-day operations are run by Faseler. The council will conduct Faseler's evaluation in closed session. Any changes to his contract would have to be approved by the council in open session.
In other business, the council is scheduled to discuss revisions to the city ordinance regarding animal control services. Staff is recommending some changes prior to the opening of the new multi-million dollar animal services facility off South Austin Street.
One change has to do with the potential sale of venomous animals inside the city limits. A recent reptile show brought about some of the concerns addressed in the ordinance. The second change would limit the number of cats that the city operated facility would accept from residents or shelters outside the city limits.
The council meeting gets underway at 5:30 p.m. today at Seguin City Hall Council Chambers.
