(Seguin) -- City councilmembers are doing their part to keep residents informed about recent crimes that reportedly have occurred in their specific council district.
Residents of Seguin City Council Districts 2 and 7 are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss ongoing crime prevention concerns in those neighborhoods. Much of the two districts lie east of Guadalupe Street and west of State Highway 123 Bypass.
District 2 Council Member Jet Crabb and District 7 Council Member Donna Dodgen will lead the discussion concerning recent car and storage shed burglaries in the areas that they represent.
Also invited to speak and answer questions about crime prevention procedures will be Seguin Police Chief Kevin Kelso, Deputy Chief Bruce Ure and Crime Prevention Office Carlos Contreras.
City officials say they will have details about the incidents that have taken place and ways folks can protect their property more effectively.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Seguin Public Library.
