Lifegate’s season ends in TAPPS playoff opener

(New Braunfels) – The Lifegate Christian School boys basketball team dropped out of the TAPPS-1A playoffs Saturday with a 47-32 bi-district loss to Bulverde-Living Rock at New Braunfels Christian Academy.

The Falcons led 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, but Living Rock turned the tables with an 18-9 run in the second period to take a 27-23 cushion into halftime.

Lifegate struggled offensively in the second half, scoring six points in the third quarter and just three more in the fourth while Living Rock put 20 on the board to pull away for the 15-point win.

Matt Foster scored 12 points and went 2-5 from three-point range to lead the Falcons offensively. Mike McKinney and Matt McKinney added five points apiece. Steele Sullivan and Justice Green each put in four, and Barry Osborne finished with two.

As a team, Lifegate only hit 30 percent of its field-goal attempts (12-40).

The Falcons finished the 2016-17 season with a final record of 13-10.
