Seguin girls finish second, boys fourth in SAISD Metro Meet

(San Antonio) - The Seguin girls track and field program finished second in the team standings and the Matador boys took fourth place last weekend in the SAISD Metro Meet at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio.

On the girls' side, Seguin's gold medalists include Mary Lee in the high jump, Jade Ross in the pole vault, Leandra Priestly in the long jump, Carsyn Dietz in the triple jump, and the 4x100 relay team. Jada Jackson won silver in the discus and bronze in the shot put. Brianna Steans finished second in the 1,600 meters and third in the 3,200 meters. Jazzriella Sanchez finished second in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the boys' meet, the Matadors won the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, and finished second in the 4x400 race. Kyle Taylor collected gold medals in the 100 meter dash and the 400 meters. Rudy Garza finished third in the 100 meters, Jason Williams second in the 400 meters. Jaevon Clemons finished second in the 200 meters, while Matthew Brittain took third place in the 800 meters.
