(Geronimo) - Navarro High School juniors Amber Reneau and Hailey Teasley received first-team selections on the 27-4A All-District basketball team to headline a list of eight Panthers who earned post-season recognition in a vote of the district's head coaches.
Reneau led Navarro in scoring (14.3) while finishing second on the team in steals (3.3), rebounding (4.1) and assists (2.8). Teasley scored 8.6 points per game and led the Panthers with averages of 2.9 assists and 4.1 steals per contest.
Navarro's second-team All-District selections include senior Katelyn Domer, sophomore Emily Hinkelmann, and freshman Molly Vrana. Domer coralled a team-high 5.0 rebounds per game while posting a 6.0 scoring average. Hinkelmann averaged 6.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.8 steals. Vrana produced 1.8 points per game and was a strong perimeter defensive presence in her first year of varsity basketball.
Three Panthers made the Honorable Mention list - Lindsay Malik, Taylor Shelton, and Anna Longoria.
Domer, Malik, Teasley, Reneau, Shelton, Hinkelmann, Longoria, and Kasey Kardosz were named to the Academic All-District team.
Navarro finished second in District 27-4A to advance to the Region IV bi-district playoffs and posted an overall record of 16-18 in Darrell Harborth's 19th season as the program's head coach.
