Summer Sizzler Race Series at Starcke Park
(Seguin) – Runners and walkers willing to brave the heat are invited to participate in the Summer Sizzler Race Series on Tuesday nights over the course of the next five weeks at Starcke Park East in Seguin.

Runners and walkers of all skill levels will enjoy a series of one-mile or three-mile runs around the park’s hike and bike trails along the Guadalupe River.  

Remaining race dates are June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, and July 22.  One-mile races begin at 7 p.m. each week, and three-mile races begin at 7:30.   
 
 
Participants can register online, by mail, or at the event each week.  The costs are $8 for the one-mile race, $15 for the three-mile, or $20 for both.  

Races will be professionally chip timed by Athlete Guild, and the one-mile course is USATF certified.  

The events will include water stops at every mile, and Gatorade, water, beer, music, and friendly people after each race.  

Ribbons will be awarded for the top three in each age group, prizes for the overall series top five, in each distance, and Brooks shoes to the overall male and female winners in both race distances.
