(La Grange) - Navarro football punctuated its four-game, season opening road gauntlet Friday night with a commanding 42-7 win over La Grange at Leopard Stadium.
The Panthers churned out 447 yards of total offense (404 rushing), and the defense coralled five interceptions on the night.
Euler Deleon led Navarro with 105 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. Chris Gomez ran for 81 yards and a score on 17 attempts. Johnny Alegria added 70 yards and a touchdown on just six carries, and Tyler Law chipped in with 47 yards and a score on eigh attempts.
As a team, Navarro averaged 7.1 yards per carry on rushing plays.
Will Eveld completed three passes for 43 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown to Mason McCalip.
Brady Butler returned an interception for a touchdown, while Stone Sahd picked off two La Grange passes. Eveld and Keith Schwarslose each came up with interceptions as well.
Navarro has won 27 straight regular season games and started each of the past five seasons with a 4-0 record.
The Panthers host defending 2A Division I state champion Refugio in Navarro's home opener at Erwin-Lee Field this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
