(Seguin) – The Lifegate six-man football team looks for its second straight win tonight when Giddings State School pays a visit to Falcon Field in Seguin
Lifegate is 2-1 after outlasting the Austin Royals 63-54 last Friday. Giddings State School is off to an 0-4 start after falling to Williamson County Homeschool 82-33 two weeks ago.
The Indians have been outscored by an average margin of 63 – 12.8 this season, and dropped last year’s meeting to the Falcons 73-27.
With those numbers in mind, Lifegate head coach John Rabon still says his team won’t take the visitors lightly tonight.
"Our guys last year said that they were the hardest hitting team that they played all year," Rabon said. "So we're in for a game. It doesn't matter what the score is, those boys, they'll run all the way across the field just to hit you one more time, so it's going to be a really, really physical game."
The Giddings State School defense will have its hands full with Lifegate spread-back Cayden Shellnut. The All-Stater accounted for eight touchdowns in last week’s win. He has piled up 508 rushing yards, 484 passing yards, and 16 total scores in three games this season.
A complete interview with Rabon can be heard during the Falcon Report between 6:45 and 7:00 tonight on KWED 1580 AM and Seguintoday.com.
The Lifegate – Giddings State School kickoff at Falcon Field is slated for 7:30 p.m.
