(Universal City) - The Marion Bulldogs are off to an 2-0 start in the District 13-3A-Division I football race after a commanding 42-12 road win over Randolph in Universal City Friday night.
Junior quarterback Tayler Mills completed 10-13 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown, and he also led the Bulldogs in rushing with 70 yards on seven carries.
Jacob Berry totaled 57 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, and Kage Armstrong also produced two scores on the ground.
Jacob Wallace caught the touchdown pass from Mills as part of a four-reception, 39-yard night. Nathan Newman was Marion's leading receiver with 66 yards on three catches, Jackson Allen coralled two receptions for 51 yards, and Berry caught a 10-yard pass.
The defense also contributed to the point total, with Tucker Walters returning a fumble recover 65 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Marion (5-2, 2-0) continues district play this Friday with a 7:30 p.m. home game against Luling at Veterans Stadium.
