TLU men’s soccer falls to Dallas, tie Colorado College
(Irving, Colorado Springs) – The Texas Lutheran men’s soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to the University of Dallas in Irving on Friday and played Colorado College to a scoreless draw on Sunday in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play last weekend.

Dallas took an early lead in the first half of Friday’s match with two goals by Andrew Ciancone in the 6th and 20th minutes. Hunter Haugland added another goal in the 32nd minute, leading 3-0 into the half.

TLU's Brice Collier countered with a goal in 60th minute for the Bulldogs. The goal was assisted by a far left pass from David Ching.

Ching scored a late second goal for TLU in the 89th minute with assist from Alejandro Martinez.

Brendan Soto made three saves in goal for the Bulldogs. UD Keeper Sean Carlin collected four saves.

For the first time this season, TLU battled to a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of conference play against Colorado College on Sunday afternoon.

The Tigers had a goal waved off from Kennan Amer in the 71st minute after he scored off a rebound. Linesman ruled he was offside.

TLU keeper Brendan Soto made the play of the game with a diving save at the right post on CC's Cam Stopforth's penalty kick. Soto picked up seven saves total for the match.

The Tigers had a slight edge over the Bulldogs on shots 17-16 total, making eight total on goal to TLU's five.

TLU is 5-9-3 overall, 4-7-2 in conference play.

In their last SCAC matchup of the season, the Bulldogs head to Georgetown, Texas to face the Southwestern Pirates Friday night at 7 p.m.

Pair of second-half goals gives TLU women 2-0 road win over Dallas
(Irving) – With goals from Bailey Nimtz and Jaclyn Smolik,Texas Lutheran Women's Soccer took a 2-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road win over University of Dallas Friday afternoon in Irving.

TLU improves to 6-8-1 overall and 6-4-1 in SCAC play.

UD drops to a 3-11-2 overall mark and 2-8-1 in the SCAC.

After a scoreless first half, Nimtz registered the game winning goal from a free kick in the 53rd minute. The shot was unassisted.

Smolik scored the insurance goal at 83:12 off a right side cross from Raquel Morris. This was Smolik's seventh goal of the season.

The Bulldogs out shot the Crusaders 34-5, making eight total corner kicks to UD's three.

TLU is set to travel to Georgetown this Friday for the last SCAC match up of the season as they take on the Southwestern Pirates. Kick off is at 5 p.m.
