(Runge) – Navarro stretched its season opening softball winning streak to eight games Tuesday night with a 20-1 run-rule shellacking of Runge in three innings.
Lindsey Gresham hit a home run as part of a 2-2 night with five RBIs and three runs scored. Ashlea Frederick drove in three runs and scored twice. Bailee Stanzione went 2-4, drove in two, and crossed the plate three times.
Alyssa Hernandez finished 2-3 with three runs and an RBI. Amber Reneau drove in two and scored twice. Sidney Booker, Haleigh Ortiz, and Emily Hinkelmann each recorded an RBI as well. Ortiz and Hinkelmann scored two runs apiece.
The Panthers capitalized on 12 hits and eight Runge errors to pile up the big run total.
Navarro (8-0) competes in the Hill Country Classic, a tournament co-hosted by Wimberley and Canyon Lake, today through Saturday.
