Seguin girls soccer earns first district win, boys come up short

(Seguin) - The Seguin girls soccer team found the District 26-5A win column Friday evening, edging San Antonio-McCollum 3-2 at Harlandale Memorial Stadium.

Fatima Jimenez scored two goals to pace the Matadors, while Kiara Molina netted the other. Chelsea Hernandez recorded an assist.

The win moves Seguin to 1-5 in district play, 4-9-1 overall.

The Seguin boys came up short to McCollum 3-1 at Matador Stadium, dropping the Matadors to 0-6 in district, 2-8-1 on the season.

Both Seguin teams have Tuesday district matches against San Antonio-Memorial. The boys play in San Antonio at 5 p.m., while the girls kick off at Matador Stadium at 6:00.
