After a courageous five year battle with cancer, Larry Ferguson was granted his wings for final flight on September 8, 2017 to be with his creator and maker.
He was a true warrior on this battlefield and took every chance in hopes for making things better for those who followed. He was born in Austin, Texas to Lemuel and Sandy Ferguson who preceded him in eternal life. Unfortunately however he never met his father and his father did not come home from the war, so now they finally meet. He also was preceded in death by Herman and Irma Baer, his in laws. He attended Saint Edwards in Austin. In his early days, he was an avid bowler where he met his wife to be. He was a member of the Seguin Elks Lodge as well as a life time member of the Knights of Columbus. His career started in insurance underwriting but ended when he went to work for his father in law at Highway Motor Company and later, Soechting Motors, where he retired. After retirement he enjoyed the country outdoors, gardening and his companion dog, Bridget. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rita Baer Ferguson; a sister, Billie Buffington; a nephew, Robert Buffington, and man’s best friend, his dog Bridget. A full memorial Mass and celebration of his life will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church on September 19, 2017 beginning with a rosary at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 10AM.
