Evelyn Schievelbein of New Braunfels passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Kirkwood Manor at the age of 95. 

She was born in Guadalupe County, Texas on April 30, 1922 to Walter and Alma Ewald.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Milton Schievelbein; sisters, Edna Scheffel and Ruby Haese; brothers, Elton Ewald, Edwin Ewald, Marvin Ewald, and Melvin Ewald; and great granddaughter, Caroline Borgfeld.  She is survived by daughters, Shirley Smith, Doris Ikels, and Barbara Borgfeld and her husband Harvey; sister, Lucille Leissner; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Public Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The family will be present from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Zoeller Funeral Home.  The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home with burial to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice or First Protestant Church.
