|Stella Louise Bonds Miles died Friday at the age of 74. |
The funeral is set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Greater Evangelist Temple in San Anotnio. Interment will follow in the Meadowlawn Memorial Park. The service is under the direction of Carter-Taylor-Williams Mortuary. Stella Miles was the first of three children born to Joy Bonds and Ruby Broadnax on June 10, 1943 in Seguin, Texas. She received her formal education in the Seguin School District, graduating from Ball High School in 1961as Salutatorian of her class. She continued her education at St. Phillips College in San Antonio where she earned an Associate Degree in liberal arts and she later attended nursing school. Stella met and married Winfred B. Miles, Jr. and to this union two children were born. Stella united with Greater Evangelist Temple where she was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. Stella accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and began her Christian walk under the leadership of Supt. C. W. Steward. Stella was active in her church. She served as President of the Purity Class for more than 20 years. She also loved working with the young people of the church. She later became church secretary and she also worked with Hospitality.
Stella leaves to cherish her memory two children, Pamela Holmes and Jeffrey (Angela) Miles; one sister, Vernell (Lloyd) Harrelson; one brother, Willie Bonds; six grandchildren, Kevin, D'Andre, J'Quan, Darius, Marquia, Briana; two great grandchildren, Kevin, Jr. and Jilen; four aunts, one special aunt and cousins.
