|George Dale Vaden Sr. was born a twin on November 8, 1946 in Sulpher Springs, TX to the late L.D. Vaden and Effie Holcombe. George “aka Vay” “aka Bludie”was called to eternal rest on August 27, 2018. |
He is preceded in death by his father L.D. Vaden, mother Effie Holcombe, nephew Marcus Lewis Sr., Cousin Karen “KV” Vaden and great-niece Mariyah Lewis-Epps.
George and his family moved to Houston, TX as a kid where he attended elementary and middle school and graduated from Evan E. Worthing High School. He served in the U.S. Army from February 1966 to July 1968. He later moved to Seguin, Tx where he worked as the head Carpenter/Maintenance Manager for many years with the Seguin Independent School District where he left there and became owner/operator of Vay’s Car Detail Shop. George was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church under the devotion of Pastor Charles McIntyre where he served and sang in the choir. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life, former wife Lillian Hosey of San Antonio, Tx, Sons George D. Vaden, Jr. (Jessica) of San Antonio, Tx, Toree Daniel (Katie) of Houston, Tx, Daughters Shonita Badillo (David) of Houston, Tx, Lois Bradley (Stanley) of Las Vegas, NV, Vaynet Vaden of San Antonio, Tx, Ajane Emayaa of Smithville, Tx, Step-daughter Tresa Jellison of Houston, Tx and numerous others, Twin-sister Georgie Lewis of Houston, TX, niece Monique Lewis of Houston, Tx., cousin Dorothy Lewis-Bassett of Sulpher Springs, Cousin Carla Jean Thompson-Hines of Sulpher Springs, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous others, along with a host of family and friends. Visitation will he held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Gaston Bell Memorial Chapel (6867 Montogmery Drive San Antonio, Tx 78239).
