"Funeral Director’s Assistant at Tres Hewell Mortuary"

What do you do off the clock “Just for fun?”
"Enjoy going to Eagle Pass – gambling, traveling"

What city and state were you born?
"Seguin, Texas"

Who are the members of your immediate family?
"My wife Peggy and my brother-in-law Steven Franklin. I also have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren."

What is the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced?
"Sometimes working with the public, especially in law enforcement can be challenging. You want to help people but sometimes they don’t want to be helped."

What is your favorite TV show and movie?
"TV shows – crime and forensic shows.
Movie – Forrest Gump and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly."

What type of music do you enjoy (favorite band, song, etc.)?
"Country"

What is your favorite Seguin business and restaurant in Seguin?
"I don’t really have a favorite. I try to support all Seguin businesses and restaurants."

What is something folks may not really know about you?
"I am sensitive and sincere towards people. I always want to help everyone and I have hard time saying no."

If you could assemble a dinner party with any five guests (living or dead) and excluding immediate living family members), who would they be?
"My God Daughter, Steve Harvey, Clint Eastwood, Elvis Presley, Donald Trump"

What are your roles in the community?
"Member of The Sunset Lions, The SAL (Sons of American Legion), Volunteer at the Senior Citizen Thrift Store"

What are your professional background/achievements/leadership roles?
"I became a patrolman working for the City of Seguin shortly after high school working my way up to Patrol Sergeant. I attended the first law enforcement academy at Texas A&M University and I am a graduate of the FBI Academy at Quantico, VA. I was also a Criminal Investigator on the police department on the police department and was Sergeant of CID when I retired. I retired from the city after 32 years."

What are your proudest moments in your personal life or in your career?
"Being a police officer & graduation from the FBI Academy."

What do you believe are the strengths of this community?
"Its history and people."

What do you find as the most interesting thing about Seguin?
"Its history, its past"

What are your future plans?
"I would like to continue to serve the citizens of the community and hopefully be fully retired one day."

What message do you have for the residents of Seguin?
"I would like to encourage the citizens of Seguin to preserve the history of our city and surrounding area."
