What is your current occupation (or where do you attend school), and what does that involve?
"I work in the marketing department at D&D, and own Lisa Evelyn Photography. I create advertisements for the best media, for the company’s target audience and image. In my photography business, I focus mainly on women. My goal is to bring their inner beauty out, and boost their self-confidence, whether that be through portraits, family or milestone photos."

What do you do off the clock “Just for fun?”
"Currently I’m painting our kitchen cabinets... Gardening, as long as it doesn’t have a flower on it (I kill those)… Really, our lives mainly revolve around the kids right now. One is in football (at least until he broke his collarbone), and the other is a very active 9 year old."

What city and state were you born in?
"New Braunfels, Texas"

Who are the members of you immediate family?
"Husband, two sons, mother-in-law, mom, dad, two brothers, sister-in-law"

What is the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced?
"Without getting too specific- my 20s. I made a lot of mistakes, learned a lot, grew up A LOT. I am now an incredibly strong woman because of those experiences."

What is your favorite TV show and movie?
"TV – This is Us. For some reason I guess I like to cry during shows! Movie – I’m blanking!! I love scary movies though."

What type of music do you enjoy?
"90's and Classic Rock"

What’s your favorite Seguin business and restaurant?
"My family loves the Grain Bin. My son wants to work there, in case anyone is reading this. Favorite store is D&D. You just can’t find their quality and selection anywhere else around here. They’ve spoiled me. HEB and the gas station. I frequent them often."

What is something folks may not really know about you?
"We have three chickens!"

If you could assemble a dinner party with any five guests (living or dead) excluding immediate living family members – who would they be?
"Jesus, Claude Monet (painter), my Omi (my grandmother), Sue Bryce (photographer) and Robert Plant (from Led Zeppelin). This could be an interesting mix, but some great stories."

What are your roles in the community?
"This year I will be volunteering some extra time for the City of Seguin, wherever they need me!"

Discuss your professional background / achievements / leadership roles?
"I’ve always been in a creative environment, mostly advertising and marketing. Personally, starting a small business is what I’m most proud of doing. I have to wear many hats, many of which are way out of my comfort zone. My love for what I do keeps me going though, and my family is incredibly supportive."

What are the proudest moments in your personal life or career?
"Besides getting married and having kids, any parent can relate – when my children are recognized for something. Parenting is HARD! So any pat on the back we get for a job well done is extremely rewarding."

What do you believe are the strengths of this community?
"Seguin is a small community, where people know each other. We value where we live and take pride in it. I also think the manufacturing facilities we house here are incredible. These are some huge companies!"

What do you find as the most interesting thing about Seguin?
"Forget the pecan, we were once known as The Concrete City!"

What are your future plans?
"I want to own a studio that’s not in my living room. And put my sons through college... Goals!!"
