A Date with Seguin
The 29th Annual Celebration, "A Date with Seguin," will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27 in the coliseum at the Seguin Events Center in Seguin. The guest speaker will be Dr. Caroline Castillo Crimm on "The Women in Juan Seguin's Life, Women in a War-Torn World."

Hats Off to Juan Seguin
There will be a Hats Off to Juan Seguin event during Pecan Fest from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Central Park in downtown Seguin. To honor Seguin’s birthday, Oct. 27, everyone is asked to show up wearing a fun, creative hat. The event includes a parade and competition for the most creative hat. Register your hat beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the parade beginning at 7 p.m.

McQueeney VFW Game Night Fundraiser
The McQueeney VFW Post 9213 will have its Game Night Fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27 at 275 Gallagher Rd. in McQueeney. There will be a Halloween theme, prizes, and food. Pecan Fest Pub Crawl

Heritage Museum Fire Prevention Day

National Take Back Initiative
The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office in collaboration with the DEA National Take Back Initiative will offer a one-day opportunity for persons to dispose of unwanted or unused prescription drugs. Dog Ambassador Inaugural Gala
Registration is underway for the 2017 Dog Ambassador, a fundraiser for the Guadalupe County Humane Society (GCHS) at Thunderpaws Canine Solutions. Candidates can register for $10. The winning candidate is the dog that raises the most money and will be announced at the Inaugural Gala from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 in the back patio area at The Warehouse located at 108 S. Halloween Comicon for Literacy
There will be a Halloween Comicon for Literacy during Pecan Fest from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Power Plant Texas Grill located at 2006 S. Sate Hwy 123 in Seguin.
