(Seguin) -- The Guadalupe County United Way is even more "united" as the various organizations it serves recently gathered together in downtown Seguin to help publicly launch this new year of giving.

(Seguin) -- Time is of the essence for Seguin to help one of its own reach her dreams. Sunday night marks the deadline for individuals to help Julia Rose Miller, a 2015 Seguin High School graduate, win the national model search for Torrid. The 20-year-old, who currently lives in Austin, is one of the Top 4 finalists in the competition for Torrid, the leader for plus size fashion in America. Online and social media voting is now underway. The top model with the most votes gets the ultimate prize of representing the fashion brand for the coming year.

Pecan Fest-Heritage Days begins this weekend; Schedule includes Dia De Los Muertos Pop Up Gallery, more

(Seguin) -- Seguin's night-life will enjoy a splash of color thanks to a pop-up art gallery coming its way this Saturday. Area artists will be hosting the pop-up art event as part of Seguin's Pecan Fest Heritage Days celebration. Warehouse will be the site for the first ever Dia De Los Muertos Pop Up Gallery.
 
Coordinating the event is Kelsey Huckaby. Huckaby says the idea was inspired by an already successful event in New Braunfels.

Big Red Barn to host pecan queen's contest, Jeep show, kids activities

(Seguin) -- The barn doors of the Texas Agricultural Education & Heritage Center, a.k.a. The Big Red Barn, will also open up this Saturday as part of this weekend's Pecan Fest & Heritage Days celebration. A number of events are slated at the Big Red Barn which includes the site of the Pecan Museum of Texas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
