Jo Ann Sassenhagen Sutherland, (54), of Seguin, TX, passed away on Wed. March 13th, 2019 at Guadalupe Valley Hospital.

Clarice Wallock (nee Eisenberg), 96, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at her home in Houston, Texas. Clarice was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Philip M. Wallock. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, and a long-time resident of Corpus Christi, Clarice was an award winning actress and frequently appeared in amateur plays at the Harbor Playhouse. She also taught and directed children’s theater.  She was a Vice President of Harbor Play House, a board member of the Coastal Bend Mental Health Association and was active in the Corpus Christi Drug Abuse Council, the League of Women Voters and Family Outreach. She was a teacher and licensed professional counselor who earned a BA in Theater Arts and a MA in Psychology. Practically every Jewish organization felt her impact including Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood, Hadassah, National Council of Jewish Women, Brandeis University, and the Jewish Community Center. She has been the recipient of many awards and honors. Clarice was the mother of Mark Wallock, Shelley Wallock and husband David Lerman and Joan and husband Robert Marshak, grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 7. Graveside services were held at Seaside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 4402 Saratoga Blvd 78413, Corpus Christi, Texas or Emily’s List, 1800 M Street NW, Suite 375N, Washington, DC 20036.
