Vendors Needed for Freedom Fiesta
KWED and the Seguin Daily News is seeking Vendors for Freedom Fiesta on Saturday, July 1st. For profit vendors are needed to sell art, crafts, retail items and games. Non-profit vendors are also needed for game booths. For more information or to reserve your space call 830-379-2234.

Navarro FFA Memorabilia Search

St. Ann's Circle Bus Trip
Reservations are currently being accepted for the St. Ann's Circle bus trip to Branson, Missouri Nov. 5th through Nov. 11th. This is a 7-day, 6-night trip, with 4 consecutive nights in Branson. First Friday Feast
The Geronimo Lions will have its First Friday Feast Steak and Fish dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 5th at the Big Red Barn. The Seguin Art League is accepting entries for its 8th Annual High School Art Show for area students in grades 9-12. There is no entry fee and forms are available at SeguinArtLeague.com. Student artwork must be delivered to the Mosaic Community Center located at 1201 W. Court Street in Seguin from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18th. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 20th. Art will be available for pick-up following the reception.

Silver Opry Country Music Show

Team fees are $100 per team per league with resident player fees $14.75 per player and non-resident fees of $15.75 per player. The 4-Man League fees are $80 per team and the players fees the same as the regular league.

The Guadalupe County Master Gardeners will meet at noon Wednesday, May 24th at the AgriLife Extension office located at 210 E. Live Oak St. in Seguin. Celebrating Fatherhood Conference

Community Music Academy Strings Camp
The TLU Community Music Academy Strings Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, July 24th through Friday, July 28th. Food Truck Cook-Off & Craft Fair
The Community Council of South Central Texas will have a Food Truck Cook-off & Craft Fair from 11 a.m. to 6 pm. Saturday, June 10th at the Comal County Fair Grounds in New Braunfels. "I go to school at Jefferson Avenue Elementary; I am in the 5th grade. I am involved in technology, music, PE, and a lot of learning. I am an A/B honor roll student."
 
What do you do off the clock “Just for fun?”
"I like to make slime in all different colors and sizes. I hang out with my family, and I love to craft with my mom."

Who are the members of your immediate family?
"My dad BJ Rangel, my mom Brandy Rangel, my 1st sister Ariana Rangel, my 2nd sister Delilah Rangel, my 3rd sister Taytum Rangel, and my 1st nephew Aiden Noria"
 
What is the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced?
"My biggest challenge is passing the STAAR test and feeling really nervous through it all."

"My favorite TV show is ICarly and SpongeBob, and my favorite movie is The Three Amigos, Moana, and Lavagirl & Sharkboy."

"I play the vihuela and I am a part of Mariachi Juan Seguin Beginner group at Teatro De Artes. I am also a part of Destination Imagination and it helps my creativity come out. I am involved in our student council for Jefferson Elementary and DARE program. I play soccer for FC Seguin Soccer travel team, and I am on an all boys team."
 
What are this proudest moments in your personal life or in your career?
"Passing my STAAR test and placing 1st place essay class winner and 2nd place essay over all in the DARE program."
 
What do you believe are the strengths of this community?

What do you find as the most interesting thing about Seguin?
"The new high school because it is going to make a difference for all students."
 
What are your future plans?
"I want to become a firefighter to save people or a marine biologist to save animals."

"I want you to be inspired to try out an instrument.
I am excited to be going to The Mariachi Spectacular in Albuquerque, New Mexico and I can’t wait to learn more about mariachi and hang out with all my mariachi friends. We have been fundraising a lot so if you see us out at Cash America Pawn stop by and show us some support!
